Rafa Benitez Confirmed As New Real Madrid Manager

Real Madrid have officially named Rafa Benitez as the man to succeed Carlo Ancelotti as manager, with the former Liverpool, Chelsea and Napoli boss having agreed a three-year contract at the club where he started his career as a player and coach.
Addressing the media, Benitez seemed rather overwhelmed to be back at his boyhood club.

“This is the hard part, having to speak but not really knowing what to say,” he explained. “Madrid is my home. It’s emotional to be back. I hope it goes well, that the team plays quality football and wins trophies.”
“This is a league I know and a club I know, too. I will take my experience from other clubs and try to learn from mistake,” he continued. “The only thing that counts at this club is coming first – second is not good enough. At Napoli it was a different squad but we still managed to compete in three competitions. Here, the next game is always the most important game.”
