Youths from Ajegunle area of Lagos State on Thursday, June 4, 2015,
protested the non-provision of electricity in the area by the Power
Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN).
The youths, numbering about 60, who matched from Ajagunle towards the
Marine Bridge along Apapa, were chanting, “No electricity; no payment”;
“PHCN give us light”; “We say no to estimated bill.”
They lamented that PHCN has stopped given electricity to the area for
the past three months, yet they were being forced to pay estimated bill
for electricity they were not used.
Eyewitness, Pastor Emmanuel Akuma, said that the protest was peaceful.
